The idea of a community orchestra was first conceived in 2007 and took form in the fall of 2008. Our mission is to provide professional and semi-professional adults as well as student musicians in Indian River County and neighboring communities an opportunity to play classic symphonic literature at a professional level. This year the Orchestra began a joint alliance with the Vero Beach High School Orchestra. Each string section is augmented with students sitting "side-by-side" with adult members of the orchestra.Â
Our expectation is that this cross-generational group will enrich each other and strive to attain a higher level of excellence. We wish to make classical music accessible and affordable to everyone in the community.Â
