History is people. And the history of Parker Ranch is entwined with Hawaii’s history because its people are entwined. From the very beginning, the Parker family and Hawaiian royal families built relationships—as rulers and subjects but also friends, colleagues and extended ‘ohana.
Through times of drama and drastic change, conflict and intrigue, uncertainty and prosperity, their relationships were most often sustained by shared values of family, loyalty, and love of the land. Today’s Parker Ranch continues an historic legacy of strength, service and resilience begun over 160 years ago, with a committed kuleana to community and to future generations of Hawaii’s people.
