Driving
Take a drive up Dry Fork Canyon, or enjoy it as part of the Red Cloud Loop Scenic Backway. This 74 mile loop, much of which is on the Ashley National Forest, offers dramatic views and a variety of recreational opportunities. On BLM managed lands in Dry Fork Canyon, about 13 miles from Vernal, the road changes from paved to gravel. The gravel road is generally well maintained for the majority of the Red Cloud Loop and is normally passable by most passenger cars. Be prepared to encounter any road hazards that may exist due to weather, washouts, etc.
Hiking
The Flume Trail in Dry Fork Canyon begins about 14 miles from Vernal on the Red Cloud Loop Road. The Flume Trail is a non-motorized trail , please be respectful of other users and expect to see hikers, horseback riders and mountain bikers.
Camping and Picnicking
BLM managed lands in Dry Fork Canyon offer great camping and picnicking opportunities. There are multiple sites in the canyon with picnic tables and fire rings as well as dispersed camping opportunities.

Firearms use is prohibited on BLM managed lands in Dry Fork Canyon.
Getting There
From Vernal go north on 500 West, which becomes 500 North/UT-121 as it veers west-bound. Turn right at 3500 West which becomes Dry Fork Canyon Road. Turn right at Dry Fork Canyon Road/Dry Fork Settlement Road/Red Cloud Loop Road. Turn Left at Red Cloud Loop Rd.
