The name ‘Tinlicker’ comes from circuit bending, which is the creative, chance-based customization of the circuits within electronic devices to create new musical or visual instruments and sound generators. While you have your hands full with musical instruments you have to 'lick the tin' in order to make things work.
Tinlicker released their first studio album ‘This Is Not Our Universe’ in 2019. The album was championed by media including Billboard, DJ Mag, BBC Radio 1 and SiriusXM. A slew of acclaimed EPs and singles followed, including remixes for alt-J, Kosheen and deadmau5, their Beatport #1 edit of Robert Miles’ ‘Children’ and their Gold & Platinum awarded song ‘Because You Move Me’ together with Helsloot.
With their second album released in 2022 called ‘In Another Lifetime’ - Tinlicker presents a brand new chapter as they demonstrate their vast personal and artistic growth. Including songs with Nathan Nicholson (The Boxer Rebellion), Jamie Irrepressible (Röyksopp) and 'Rebirth' together with Hero Baldwin. Also in 2022 their tune 'Hypnotised' was the official opening song of Tesla's new factory in Texas and their song 'Because You Move Me' reached Platinum in Germany, Triple Platinum in Switzerland, Triple gold in Austria, Platinum in France, Gold in Canada and Gold in their home country The Netherlands.
Tinlicker's 2023 was all about playing concerts. Starting at Eurosonic, followed by Europe, North & South America and Australia. At ADE 2023 they played the official opening concert together with the Metropole Orkest. The first singles with their new label [PIAS] came out in fall. For February 16th their new album 'Cold Enough For Snow' is announced.
