Sympatico is a group of three like-minded musicians whose repertoire is a mixture of popular jazz and blues both nostalgic and current, from Nina Simone to Etta James, and Sergio Mendes to Diana Krall. Versatility best describes their varied musical experiences from society and club dates, to dance clubs and shows in rock arenas. Sympatico is: Ruth Ansell, piano; Brad Singer, drums; and vocalist Toni Washington-Bolt.

Toni is the great niece of acclaimed jazz and R&B singer Arthur Prysock and grew up surrounded by music her entire life. She studied with Katie Agresta, vocal coach to the stars Cyndi Lauper, Meatloaf & Jon Bon Jovi. Toni has performed at high society functions including celebrity and corporate parties and clubs throughout the metropolitan and tristate area. Other credits include performing with smooth jazz guitarist Peter White and jazz saxophonist Jarred Arsomena. While working with the renowned Peter Duchin and his orchestra, she has performed for President Clinton while in office and sang at President Clinton's birthday party and subsequent parties at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC, often sharing the stage with artists such as: Burt Bacharach, Ray Charles, Tony Bennett, Diane Shurr, Joni Mitchell, Rosemary Clooney, Sid Caesar, and Billy Crystal to name a few. Also is the original lead vocalist for the popular band East Coast.

Ruth is a pianist, composer, and arranger, with diverse musical interests ranging from jazz, rock, pop, and blues to classical. She has studied piano, orchestration, and music theory at Juilliard, jazz piano with Doug Beardsley, and has performed all over the tri-state New York area and beyond. Some of these venues include Steinway Hall and The Underground in New York City and, along with Brad and Bob, she has also performed at the Highline Ballroom and B.B. King's in Manhattan, the Guinness Storehouse in Ireland, and The Broadmoor in Colorado. Her musical influences range from Beethoven to The Beatles to Bill Evans, and her style is a reflection of her eclectic musical tastes. She is also an original member of the Composers' Collective based in New York City.

Brad has a BA in Music and Education from Hofstra University, an MLS from Long Island University and was a student of the late great Charles Perry, jazz drummer, educator and author. Brad has worked just about every kind of gig including jazz, country, rock, Irish, Jewish and Greek on stages large and small. He is the original drummer and founding member of Fully.
