The Harpers Ferry Highland Games return to Sam Michaels Park on October 4-5, 2025, bringing two full days of Celtic athleticism, music, dance, and family fun to the Eastern Panhandle. Hosted by the Harpers Ferry Celtic Culture Society, gates open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Highland Games are a centuries-old tradition featuring feats of strength and skill. Attendees can witness iconic competitions including the caber toss, hammer throw, stone put, and sheaf toss-all performed by seasoned athletes from across the region. The celebration extends beyond the field with a vibrant pipes and drums competition, Highland dance performances, and live Celtic music throughout the weekend.

This year's Games proudly support the Jefferson County Council on Aging (JCCOA), a nonprofit dedicated to serving older adults with programs that promote wellness and independence. The event is made possible thanks to the generous support of sponsors: Founding Sponsor - The Barn; Silver Sponsor - Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races and Onelife Fitness in Martinsburg; Bronze Sponsors - Misneach Irish Dance Academy and Skinner Accident and Injury Lawyers; and Iron Sponsor - Bank of Charles Town and Martin Distributing Company. The Charles Town Moose Lodge #948 is also recognized as a proud supporter of JCCOA through our Double the Care Campaign.

Visitors can also explore food vendors, local artisans, and interactive cultural exhibits, making this a full-day experience for all ages. Children under 12 enter free, and adult tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the gate. Learn more or purchase tickets at hfccs.org.
