Stand-up/Sit-Down: Comedian Richie Byrne
Comedian, Richie Byrne, captivates audiences with his stage presence and one of the highest laugh-per-minute counts in the business. Byrne, who wowed audiences as the warmup comedian for “The Dr. Oz Show” for over a decade, brings his unique meld of old-school story-telling, New York sarcasm, and spot-on witty observations to every performance. After his stand-up set, Richie will sit down for a discussion on his illustrious career.
A veteran of stand-up for over 30 years, Byrne sports a string of A-list NY credits including Dangerfield’s, Caroline’s on Broadway, Gotham Comedy Club, Carnegie Hall, and Radio City Music Hall; as well as the Borgata in Atlantic City and the The Comedy Stop at the Trop in both Atlantic City and Las Vegas. His TV credits in comedy include Comedy Central, VH1, “The Rosie O’Donnell Show”, “Good Day New York” and “Gotham Live” on AXS-TV.
Besides “The Dr. Oz Show” Richie has done warm up for “The Rachael Ray Show”, “Tamron Hall”, “The Drew Barrymore Show”, “The Chew”, “The Jane Pauley Show,” “Murphy Brown”, “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire”, and the “Miss America Pageant”. His variety show, “The Richie Byrne Show”, is a tour de force of theater, Broadway, comedy sketches and big band grandeur. Sharing laughter for good, Byrne has toured military bases worldwide with “Comics on Duty,” and has performed for many charities.
Byrne has also pursued his passion for acting on the stage and screen, with high-profile turns including “Sex and the City,” “The Sopranos,” “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” and “Conviction” as well as the feature film “Good-bye Baby”.
