Join us at Avogadro's Number silent film jams sessions all summer with featured musicians accompanying classic and eclectic silent films:
- June 12 – Guest artist Rayonism- Matt Loewen, synthesist and multi-instrumentalist from Head for the Hills, curates a special sonic experience to a tailored film playlist to experimental film pioneer Stan Brakhage .
- July 10 – Adam Bodine, award-winning jazz pianist known for his performances at Dazzle Denver and beyond.
- August 14 – David Wohl, acclaimed composer for film and stage, shares his genre-spanning compositions.
What's a Silent Film Jam?
Imagine a movie night where the soundtrack is being made on the spot-by you and other adventurous musicians. That's a Silent Film Jam.
We project classic, contemporary and eclectic silent films, and you bring the sound. Guitar, synth, fiddle, voice, shaker-whatever moves you. It's part open mic, part cinematic experiment, and totally in-the-moment.
There's no pressure, just a playful, creative space to: - Try something new - Jam with other artists - Explore how music and film feed each other in real time
Whether you're a seasoned musician or just curious, come vibe with us. The films are silent-but we make them sing.
