Roxey Ballet would like to invite you and your community to our annual Sensory-Friendly Performance of The Nutcracker.

 

This holiday spectacular takes place in a friendly, supportive environment for individuals, groups, children, and families with special needs. The performance and environment are adapted to maximize comfort and accessibility. 

 

A huge part of Roxey Ballet’s mission is reaching our communities of people with disabilities and special needs, so this event is an important one. We prioritize the comfort of our diverse audience and will put your needs first!

 

Save the Date: Saturday, December 14, 2024 | 4:00 pm

 

Accessibility Measures: 

  • Lower volume

  • No startling lighting effects or strobe lights

  • House lights remain on  (20% light)

  • Audience may get up, move around, or leave as needed

  • Reduced performance length

  • Allowed use of iPads and other electronics for therapeutic use

  • Volunteers present to assist and direct audience members as needed

  • Designated quiet areas for taking breaks

  • Storyboards for performance plots

  • Visits before or after public hours

Run Time: 1 hour, 20 minutes 

No intermission - guests are invited to get up and move throughout the show!
