Performance:Teen Tech - Shakespeare Threads

Elizabethan era garments or "Shakespeare Threads" are a mainstay in theatre and film! Explore historical costume construction to create a historical doublet or bodice similar to those worn in Shakespeare inspired musicalsand Juliet, Something Rotten, Kiss Me Kate and Six. 

This 5-session Teen Tech program teaches each step in the construction of a garment in the Shakespearian era. Participants, ages 12-17, will be guided through flat patterning using body blocks, historical fabrics, cutting and sewing techniques both machine and hand, and finishing details including grommets and steel boning.
