Performance: Dinner with the Dictator

A rookie Dictator learns to govern through torture, intimidation, corruption (between dictators and a Pope—not that one!) interrogation and summary execution of all who disappoint him, including a series of mistresses. Hapless student revolutionaries waver in their opposition but eventually mount a successful assassination plot armed with dozens of plastic takeout forks.

This fast and comical political farce, written before the current American political situation, was prescient in its forecast that we would come under the heel of a domestic fascist for whom violence is a reasonable political expedient. Audiences may be uncomfortable with the parallels to our own politics but hopefully heartened that the lunatic in control can be undone by a ragged corps of revolutionists with plastic takeout forks.
