Beetlejuice The Musical (JR) tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a "strange and unusual" teenager obsessed with death after losing her mother. She and her father, Charles, move into a new house which is, unbeknownst to them, haunted by the recently deceased couple, Adam and Barbara Maitland. The Maitlands, eager to reclaim their home, attempt to scare the living away but fail.
They then enlist the help of Beetlejuice, a mischievous demon with a zest for life in the afterlife, to get rid of the Deetzes. Lydia, who can see ghosts, forms an unexpected bond with the Maitlands and discovers Beetlejuice's chaotic intentions. Beetlejuice uses his powers to unleash pandemonium in the house, often targeting Charles and his eccentric new girlfriend, Delia.
Lydia tries to help Adam and Barbara scare her family away, but Beetlejuice's unpredictable antics often make things worse. As the chaos escalates, Lydia must decide whether to side with the ghosts or protect her living family. Ultimately, she outsmarts Beetlejuice and manages to find a balance between the living and the dead. The musical is a frightfully funny tale about grief, family, and finding where you belong, even in the most unusual circumstances.
