Music in the Park - Arcadia Band

Experience the soulful Americana music of Arcadia Band, led by the talented Doug Kolmar and Janice O’Rourke, in a captivating four-piece ensemble.

Arcadia Band, is a Folk/Americana band from greater Portland Maine, featuring Janice O’Rourke on vocals and guitar, Pat Sylvia, Colin Kolmar on percussion and vocals, Mark McDonough on bass, and Doug Kolmar on vocals, guitar, mandolin. They blend sweet vocal harmonies with bluegrass-flavored instrumental colors on their own original songs as well as creative covers. They have been playing together as a band since working on Doug’s 2018 solo record, Arcadia. Excited by how right things felt playing live at the Arcadia release party, they knew they had to continue playing and started to explore the songs Janice was writing as well. The band has performed at the L.LBean Made in Maine Music Series, Thompson’s Point Sunset Series, and had a sold-out show at the Founder’s Hall at 317 Community Music School shortly after it opened in the fall of 2023. Arcadia Band’s first EP, Lonesome Holy Sound was released in April 2024, and features the song “Dream Rolling By,” that was selected as a finalist in the International Acoustic Music Awards.
