KC Johns kicked off 2025 with “Break From The Heart,” in February. Johns explains, “‘Break From The Heart’ is for anyone who has had their heart broken and needs a ‘break from the heart.’ Writing this Country/rocker tune with Tim Angsten and Tim Baumgartner, while on tour riding in the van across the highway miles, we all three related to this song reminiscing on heartbreaks and knowing there is a light at the end of the tunnel AFTER every heartbreak.’
In April, KC followed up with “Smoke Show, and now, “Kind of Vibe.” KC describes “Kind of Vibe” best, “When I moved to Nashville in 2017, I felt like Nashville might be overwhelming, and I might want to try to change my sound, my style and so much more to fit in, so it took me a long time to find what I wanted to say in this industry and what my ‘kind of vibe’ was. The lyrics have a double meaning speaking of a fine souped up V8, but also meaning ‘took a while just to get this girl running,’ referring to me. ‘Can you hear them 500 horses, packed up underneath this hood?’ refers to a V8 engine, but, also what’s underneath MY heart & soul. Takes a while to find who you are in any industry, but when you find your own voice and “paint your own white lines,” you will eventually find your ‘Kind of Vibe.’ I feel like I have”
KC has already had quite the year. “Rodeo Queen” reached more than 850,000 streams, gained significant traction reaching #28 on Texas Country radio and was recognized as one of the Top 10 songs of 2024 by the Texas Country Music. Her newest releases are tracking right along behind Rodeo Queen
