We invite you to celebrate Juneteenth with a very special performance. Through the genius of prominent Black Jazz composers and musicians, we will honor the historic significance of the day—the end of slavery in the United States. On this unique federal holiday, Americans remember the day in 1865, when Black residents of Galveston, Texas, finally learned of their freedom. In our current political climate, we strongly feel the need for all Americans to embrace this essential history and recognize the ongoing importance of this day.

David Eure - Jazz Violin

David Eure transforms the violin into a human voice, embodying a soulful sound with precision, clarity, and finesse. He effortlessly bridges classical and jazz styles with an elegant touch.

David has performed with N’Kenge, Yoron Israel, Yusef Lateef, Ran Blake, Webster Lewis, George Russell, Jr., and Christine Correa. He has opened for 8-time Grammy nominated artist Kirk Whalum, Walter Beasley, Alex Bugnon, Taj Mahal, Richie Havens, and Rick Danko. He performed for former President Bill Clinton. David continues to record and perform jazz in the U.S. and is a jazz violin instructor at the New England Conservatory of Music.

Lee Adler has played piano since he was 8 years old. After hearing an Oscar Peterson record as a teenager, he knew he wanted to study jazz. At Clark University, Lee studied music with Alan Mueller and the late Relly Raffman. More recently, he has studied with Laszlo Gardony, who shared his organic approach to jazz piano, Jeff Covell, and Doug Johnson. Lee’s style melds jazz, blues, funk, and popular music. He enjoys solo and ensemble performances and has played at numerous Boston venues, including Ryles and Slade’s. He has collaborated with Regie Gibson as part of the Regie Gibson Project.
