Jazz Concert Series: Sanny Alves Brazilian Quartet

A singer's singer and consistent favorite of Brazil's greatest musicians, Sanny Alves has been a fixture in Rio's most sophisticated boîtes (including Beco das Garrafas, the birthplace of Bossa Nova) for over 20 years.

She first gained widespread attention in 2002, lending her rich, textured voice to celebrated composer/arranger Arthur Verocai's acclaimed modern Bossa Nova album Saudade Demais, which also included her father, esteemed bassist Luiz Alves. Sanny's is a soulful, authentic voice of Brazil.
