Gabriel Espinosa Brazilian Quartet

Mexican-born Gabriel Espinosa's prowess as a Latin/Brazilian jazz bassist and composer has taken him around the world, including top NY spots like Dizzy's and Iridium.

He's recorded four albums as a leader, two as co-leader with legendary harmonica player Hendrik Meurkens (including Celebrando, among 2012's top jazz albums) and four others with his group Ashanti. A highly-respected music educator in Iowa, his new record, Maya Dreams, is a collaboration with the Mike Conrad Big Band.
