Ben Gilbert is a self-taught artist from Portland, Oregon. He employs basic materials to create this  exhibition of 80 wax drawings on corrugated soda bottle box liners. His staement...a blank canvas... the pristine wall of a Pearl loft just waiting for impish hands to add a splash of chaotic color... detritus on the street... from the distance looking at something that fell off a truck... with a closer look... a face, a pattern appears... gold out of floss. That is how I started. That is the core..."
