Eat, Drink, Sing, Dance at the annual Serbian Festival in Columbus on Friday and Saturday, September 19 and 20, 2025, at St. Stevan of Dechani Serbian Orthodox Church, 1840 N. Cassady Ave., in Columbus, located a mile from I-670 and the John Glenn International Airport. Merriment begins on Friday evening at 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. and on Saturday from Noon to 10:00 p.m.
You won’t need a passport to travel to an authentic Festival in Serbia! The church’s grounds are transformed into a Serbian village where traditional homemade Serbian main and side dishes and delectable homemade pastries await your palate.
Tasty delicacies include fire-roasted lamb and pig (both Saturday only), grilled chevapcici (beef and pork skinless sausages), homemade sarma (cabbage leaves stuffed with beef and pork, cooked with smoked meat), homemade burek (meat pie), gibanica (noodle and cheese casserole), an array of Serbian salads and side dishes, and to top off these delights, homemade apple strudel, Slivovitz cake, Serbian apple cake, baklava and many other homemade Serbian pastries.
Refreshments include a full bar with Serbian and domestic beer, an assortment of Rakija, Slivovica, and wines plus soft drinks.
Live Serbian music for sing-alongs and kolo dancing, activities for children and Church tours on Saturday. Books, icons and other religious items available for sale from the St. Stevan’s Bookstore.
Admission is $5 but the experience is priceless! Free for children 17 and under. Ample free parking right at the site of the Festival on the church grounds.
