To continue its 25th Anniversary celebration, Ballet Theatre Company (BTC) is proud to present Stephanie Dattellas’ Snow White at the Bushnell’s Belding Theater, April 20-21, 2024. The beloved fairytale originated as a story written by the Brothers Grimm in the early 19th century and has since been retold in styles ranging from a Broadway play to Disney’s first animated feature film. Dattellas’ rendition of Snow White blends elements from the traditional tale with her own ballet twists, following Snow White as she experiences hardships, friendships, and unexpected trials with unwavering kindness. This innovative spin on the classic tale embodies the triumph of good over evil and will leave audience members with full hearts as they depart the theater. Leading BTC’s cast of professional and student dancers will be BTC Company Artists Jo-ann Burke and Sarah Berglund, who will play the coveted roles of Snow White and the Evil Queen, respectively. BTC’s resident professional company will fill soloist roles such as the Scarf Witch, Comb Witch, Apple Witch, and Village Soloists. Pre-professional dancers of BTC’s Junior Corps de Ballet will comprise a number of ensemble roles throughout the production. BTC is also thrilled to welcome returning guest artist, Zane Winders, who will perform the role of the Prince. All costumes featured in the production are designed and handmade by BTC’s professional costume designers Tracy Dorman and Pat Nurnberger. Join Snow White on her journey to find love, with the help of all of her forest friends despite the Evil Queen’s treacherous obstacles.
