Black History on Providence's East Side Walking Tour

Join the Rhode Island Historical Society for our premiere of a powerful Black History walking tour on Saturday, October 11th at 11:00 am. Explore the past of Providence’s East Side Black communities that fought gentrification and enslavement. Delve into history as we shed light on racial tensions, community resistance,  and how Providence’s diverse demographics were shaped. From the historic neighborhoods to the legacies of struggle and resilience, this journey illuminates Providence’s Black history, honoring both the triumphs and challenges faced by its people.
