THE WORKSHOP

Hammonds + West will lead a fun, interactive workshop in The Grace Museum’s Main Gallery for interested participants on July 18, 2025! This workshop is meant to support individual reflection on their current exhibition The Great Turning: We Gather, We Grow, We Tend, beginning with an exercise that reveals the deep time in the world around us—even in everyday objects. Hammonds + West will invite you into ways of using drawing or poetry to attend to the natural world around us. You will explore the connections between yourself and nature in your daily life. Then, you will imagine the stories and images of the next version of the world you would like to enter. Both Hammonds + West will provide generative, engaging prompts as jumping off points, and you can choose whether to use drawing, writing, or some combination to respond.

No art or writing experience necessary.
