Art Adventures Live! Balance and Movement

Friday, Jun 5, 2020 from 10:30am to 11:15am

Learn about art in Joslyn’s collection, and make some of your own, all from the comfort of your kitchen table! Gather up a few simple materials and join us LIVE! on Facebook every Friday at 10:30 am for an art-making lesson led by Studio Programs Manager, Andy Smith.
Materials needed for the activity are below (and will be broadcast at 10 am each Friday). Need supplies? Free kits will be available for pick-up outside of Joslyn each Thursday, beginning at 9 am, while supplies last.
George Sugarman's giant yellow sculpture made of cut steel shapes appears to rise like bits of paper blowing in the wind, in Joslyn’s Discovery Garden. We will learn to create carefully balanced sculptures of our own using cut and assembled foam shapes.
Necessary Supplies:
Craft Foam Sheet; one sheet: 9”x12”
Tagboard or cereal box cardboard
4 brass brads

Note: When we're not in "COVID-19 mode," Art Adventures is a weekly drop-in program held at the Museum, where preschool-aged children and their adult chaperones visit the galleries to explore an artwork and make art of their own in the studio. FREE for Joslyn Members! Visit to join.
General Public: $10 adult/child pair per session; $2 each additional child.
