Authentic Argentine Tango Class with Guided Practice, all levels (beginners and advanced students welcome)

Experience the world’s most passionate dance! In this fun and educational six-week dance series, students will learn and improve upon fundamental skills of authentic Argentine Tango as it is danced socially in Buenos Aires and around the world. This is not a class on acrobatic stage tango, but rather the more intimate and popular style of tango danced around the globe by non-professional dancers.

Each class will introduce a classic new figure (with variations and embellishments for more experienced students), and we will review the previous class figure. We will train your sense of musicality, and how to listen to tango music to improve your dance. We have two dance areas in the beautiful Russell Gallery, one of which is reserved for beginners who are not yet ready to navigate the floor.

Anyone can choose to lead or follow in this class. No partner is required. This class will have fun challenges to match each student’s abilities and interests.

We recommend flexible-soled shoes that can slide; it is optional to purchase dance sneakers, jazz shoes, or tango shoes.

Register.
