The Norwalk Film Festival and The Norwalk Art Space proudly present AN HOUR WITH ANDY, a very special, limited-seating discussion and question-and-answer session with renowned film animator Andy Gaskill.
Andy began his animation career at Walt Disney Studios in 1973 after studying sculpture, painting, and photography at the Philadelphia Academy of the Fine Arts. As a member of Disney’s second generation of animators, he was mentored by legendary "Nine Old Men" Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston.
Andy’s career spans decades of work in character animation, visual development, and art direction—including The Lion King, Hercules, and Treasure Planet. He has contributed to most major Hollywood animation studios and continues to write and storyboard today.
Recent credits include The Garfield Movie (2023) and the upcoming Alvin and the Chipmunks installment. He is also the creator of the hand-drawn web series "Abigail Avarice", set in a post-industrial New England coastal town—reminiscent of Norwalk—and available on Instagram at @andygaskillstories.
