Fossil Treasures of Fernandina
With Cheryl Wilson, Founder of Fernandina Fossils
Join us at the Amelia Island Museum of History for a fascinating evening with Cheryl Wilson and and the team of experts from Fernandina Fossils as they reveal the ancient treasures hiding right on our beaches! From shark’s teeth to fossilized scallop shells and land and sea mammals, many of these incredible specimens date back 5 to 23 million years.
They will showcase highlights from her collection and share expert tips on how, when, and where to find fossils on Amelia Island (but shh, keep it secret!) and how to identify them. The program will include a Q&A session and hands-on time with real fossils.
Don’t miss this chance to see, touch, and uncover the stories hidden in our sands!
Cost: Free for museum members; suggested donation of $5 for nonmembers
Seating is limited on a first-come, first-served basis. This program is wheelchair accessible.
